The Culinary Workers Union in Las Vegas has declared that thousands of its members will participate in a rally next week on the Las Vegas Strip. The rally aims to continue the union's efforts in securing a new five-year contract. In addition to the rally, a portion of the workers plans to engage in a civil disobedience action, in order to draw attention to their cause.
This rally follows the recent strikes by hospitality workers in Detroit, who walked off the job after unions called for action against several prominent casinos. In Las Vegas, the union members will gather on Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard to express their demands. Notably, 75 workers will take part in a civil disobedience action located in the center of the Strip.
